And you are…?

I’m a relative unknown when it comes to my street cred as an author. Outside my circle of friends and my family, no one really knows me. They hear “Mary Rajotte” and after trying to figure out how to pronounce my last name, think to themselves, “And you are….???”

I mean, I’m still surprised when people I don’t know sign up for my writing page on Facebook. I can tweet and blog and invite people to buy my books on Amazon all day long but, being relatively new to the publishing scene, I get why people would be wary to take a chance on me.

Who would buy an anthology or magazine with one my stories in it if they have no idea who I am? Is it worth it to take a chance? Who the heck is this Mary Ra-whatever anyway? Well, I’m hoping to remedy that this Spring with some new short stories that you won’t have to shell out for an entire anthology to read.

I know – this isn’t groundbreaking news for those who have been self-publishing for a while now. Truth is, I’ve been wanting to do this for a long time but haven’t been able to find the time. So I’ve gotta make the time. Stay tuned for updates here and on my Facebook page & Twitter. There will be tales! Frightful tales!

Hopefully, formatting for various eReaders won’t make me want to strangle someone.
