Long after I depart
and subside
into nothing more
than memory,
my thoughts will persist
within these treasured tomes.
Forget me not,
my love,
for left alone to languish,
ink fades,
pages curl and wither,
and my stories, untold,
my sorrows, unspoken,
become whispers
as fleeting and fragile
as wisps of dust.
