We all make homes for ourselves in the world. Places to hide from trouble. Where we build ourselves anew. Places that inspire us to delve deep, to hone our imaginations so we can face the trials and tribulations that challenge us. When the pandemic hit and severed our ties to that sanctuary we’d created together—that haven of collective belonging, where even in the gathering darkness, we found kinship that carried us through shadow—it was a loss that made us all feel vulnerable; myself included.
