Good times! <\/p>\n<p> <strong>About NaNoWriMo<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you&#39;re new to the game:<\/p>\n<p> From <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nanowrimo.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.nanowrimo.org\/<\/a><br \/> <em> National Novel Writing Month is a fun, seat-of-your-pants approach to novel writing. Participants begin writing November 1. The goal is to write a 175-page (50,000-word) novel by midnight, November 30.<\/em><\/p>\n<p> This will be my second year attempting NaNoWriMo. Last year, I &quot;won&quot;, but I didn&#39;t quite finish the story, so I am reviving it for this year&#39;s attempt and will hopefully get the first draft of the entire novel completed by the end of November. It&#39;s more if a thriller\/suspense story than horror &#8211; a bit scary for me since I usually only write horror &#8211; I&#39;m just hoping I can do my idea justice.<\/p>\n<p> I don&#39;t know if it&#39;s insane to think this, but I am also hoping to keep working on my short stories throughout the month. I have 2 half-finished ones on the go and a few ideas that I want to work on next. We&#39;ll see. I think it would be a great challenge for me to try to do both the book &amp; shorter pieces &#8211; but I&#39;m going to have to stock up on Red Bull and chocolate covered cherries first!<\/p>\n<p>I generally like to go in with an outline. I guess I&#39;m at an advantage in one way, since I already know what I&#39;m writing about. But it could also be a disadvantage since I haven&#39;t consistently worked on the book since last November, only working on it in spurts here and there.
