A re-cap of days past…<\/p>\n
The first day of NaNoWriMo has come and gone. At first, I admit – I was a little intimidated. I had started this book last November, and other than re-reading it a few times, doing some minor editing, and filling in some (gaping) holes in the plot for the last few weeks, it hasn't really been at the forefront of my mind.<\/p>\n
The first few paragraphs were, to put it bluntly, shite. But no worries. Eventually the rhythm of this creepy old town came back to me and I was on my way again.<\/p>\n
Day Two – not as good. Real life has a tendency to get in the way, so I was only able to get a few measly hundred words down before going to bed, exhausted.<\/p>\n
So here we are, Day Three. I am already behind.<\/p>\n
I actually wasn't too worried about it. I started a full 5 days late last year, and still managed to finish my 50,000 words.<\/p>\n
And then, I hit the (first and, most likely not last) wall. This would be my first day writing as a new character in the book. And nothing was coming out with quite enough machismo as it needed. The words were flimsy, the thoughts all over the place…I just couldn't picture him.<\/p>\n
Luckily, it wasn't concrete, just brick with crumbling mortar so I was able to bash right through.<\/p>\n

I remembered, back in the planning stages of this book when I was putting together a mini dossier for each character that I had gone searching for photos of actors who I thought would best be suited to play my characters if\/when my book makes it to the big screen.<\/p>\n
I put them together into a family album of sorts, and there they were. All of them lined up, just waiting for me to breathe life into them.<\/p>\n
So far, I'm at 1549 for the day, and will be staying up until the well is drained.<\/p>\n
