So, although things have been a little quiet here on the blog, I’ve been busy!<\/p>\n

Of course, I’m 3 weeks into NaNoWriMo<\/strong>. Things are going slowly. There is a BIG difference<\/strong> between slowly & methodically revising<\/strong> a manuscript and sitting down for the fast & furious First Draft<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

My main goal<\/strong> when going into NaNoWriMo was to get this round of revisions done. If I hit 50k<\/strong> along the way, I’d be stoked. But mostly, I wanted to clean up this book after spending the beginning of the year planning this revision.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/p>\n

I have started posting snippets on my Patreon page<\/a> for my patrons to see.\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\nI’m also busy taking the first of my classes funded with money from the HWA Scholarship<\/a>. My first class comes to an end in 3 weeks, and then I’ve got another class starting next week and a BIG 4-month class starting in January!<\/p>\n

\"\"All of this learning and I still sit down some days and stare at the screen, unable to translate the idea in my head onto (virtual) paper<\/strong>. But that’s why I’m taking all these classes in the first place. To up my game. That doesn’t mean it’s still not frustrating. But that doesn’t mean I’m going to give up<\/strong> (though I may flip a table in the process) \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

There are 2 other big classes<\/strong> I’m considering but they all kind of take place at the same time so I’m torn between wanting to LEARN ALL THE THINGS<\/strong> but not wanting to be overwhelmed and not being able to devote my full attention to the class at hand.<\/p>\n

It’s hard not to want to do everything all at once<\/strong>. I struggle with that in terms of which book or story I want to work on at any given time. I just want to do it all<\/strong>. But if I’ve learned anything it’s not to over-extend oneself. Setting too many goals (or the Fear Of Missing Out<\/strong>) can make one feel like your always playing catch-up<\/strong>, always feeling like a failure because you’ve planned so many things that are impossible to accomplish all at once.<\/p>\n

It’s a good lesson to learn!<\/p>\n
