I used to have 3 pen pals in England that I would send thick 15-page letters to. I&#39;d stuff in little trinkets, or photos. That was a great feeling, going to the mailbox and finding a lumpy package waiting.<\/p>\n<p> I&#39;ve since lost touch with one of those pen pals. The other 2 e-mail me occasionally. But still, there&#39;s nothing like a handwritten letter from someone far away, the time spent in putting thoughts down on paper. Sometimes notes were short, just quick updates. And others turned into stream-of-consciousness spillings of thought&#8230;interest&#8230;dream.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I miss receiving letters.
