How is it October already?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t get me wrong\u2026<strong>October is my favorite month of the year<\/strong>. The leaves are starting to change, there\u2019s enough of a chill in the air that coffee and cozy sweaters become even more indulgent. But it feels like time is just moving <strong>too quickly.<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I swear, once summer comes, the rest of the year flies by.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I don\u2019t want fall to go by so fast, not when I know what\u2019s on the other side of it\u20265 months of cold, snow and ice. <strong>BOO!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Alas, I\u2019m trying not to think about that right now because I\u2019ve got <strong>TOO MUCH TO DO<\/strong>! So, let\u2019s see what I accomplished last month and what\u2019s on tap for October.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>SEPT 2019 GOALS<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Brainstorm new novel<\/li><li>Finish Urban Legends story for Spooky Showcase<\/li><li>Expand Folk Horror story<\/li><li>Revise 4 chapters of Thicker Than Water<\/li><li>Revise Reaper novel<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Even though it didn\u2019t happen until this past weekend, I finally<strong> made some progress on my new book<\/strong>. I\u2019m at the very VERY early stages of this book, even though I\u2019m expanding it from a short story. I\u2019m pretty excited about it, though, because I\u2019ve already had some <strong>really cool ideas<\/strong> to add to it!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And\u2026I DID finish my short story for the <strong>Spooky Showcase<\/strong> hosted by my good friend and Midnight Society pal <a href=\"http:\/\/jolenehaley.com\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jolene Haley<\/a>. I\u2019m not sure which day<a href=\"http:\/\/jolenehaley.com\/urban-legends-schedule\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> in October<\/a> my story will go live, but the showcase has already launched with the story<a href=\"http:\/\/jolenehaley.com\/urban-legends-resurrection-rosie\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Resurrection Mary by author Mary Lamphere<\/a>. Be sure to check it out!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I didn\u2019t get to work on expanding my<strong> folk horror<\/strong> story but it is one of the top 2 tasks I\u2019ll be tackling this month, as I want to submit it to a market in November.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unfortunately, I haven\u2019t worked on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wattpad.com\/story\/188688196-thicker-than-water\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Thicker Than Water<\/a> in a while. BUT I\u2019ve been getting some reader comments over on Wattpad, which is <strong>inspiring<\/strong> me to get back to work on it asap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As for the<strong> Reaper novel,<\/strong> uh\u2026it\u2019s still on the backburner. It WILL be my <a href=\"https:\/\/nanowrimo.org\/participants\/myrrh\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" target=\"_blank\">NaNoWriMo<\/a> project, which might actually be a good thing.
