I really liked this course, Jessica breaks each main \u201cbeat\u201d of the novel into <strong>separate modules<\/strong>, with descriptions, examples from books &amp; movies, as well as her own books.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s great if you don\u2019t have time to read an entire plotting book. You can literally sit there and plot out your main beats <strong>in a weekend<\/strong> if you want!<br \/>I liked it so much that I\u2019m going to also buy her book to get more examples of the beats, but her course is a great resource, with a bunch of <strong>freebies<\/strong> you can download with tip sheets on the beats.<\/p>\n<h2>MY PROGRESS<\/h2>\n<p>I\u2019ve pretty much planned out the main <strong>\u201ctentpole\u201d<\/strong> scenes for the<strong> first 2\/3<\/strong> of my book. I\u2019m about to plan the final third, and then I\u2019ll go through each of those main chapters and <strong>plan the beats for each scene <\/strong>(point-form chapter breakdowns, so when i sit down to write, I know what will happen in each chapter).<\/p>\n<p>Yes, I am a <strong>card-carrying plotter<\/strong>. I like a <strong>detailed road map<\/strong> for where my book will go, but that doesn\u2019t mean it won\u2019t change along the way. In fact, it usually does. But having that <strong>main foundation<\/strong> really helps me, and more often than not, I find some really cool <strong>seed<\/strong> I didn\u2019t even realize I\u2019d planted <strong>comes to fruition<\/strong> in the writing process.<\/p>\n<h2>AND YOU?<\/h2>\n<p>Do you plot your stories or books?
