After 1 month of preparation and outlining, the first day of work on the new book is done.\u00a0<\/p>\n

I admit it – my outline still isn’t done. BUT I do have the rough outline, aka general beats for each chapter, are complete.<\/p>\n

I like to do a scene card for each chapter in Scrivener, and I include the characters, setting, photos for inspiration and then sketch out the beats so when I sit down to write, I know where I’m going.<\/p>\n

I wrote about half a chapter today. I know I’ll probably cut the first few chapters because it always takes me a bit to get into the chapter. But it’s good to write something new – and to finally dive into the book I’ve spent so long planning (I’ve been brainstorming it since September!).<\/p>\n

It won’t be called Witchery, as the title of this post suggests. But that does give you an idea of the writerly shenanigans I’ll be getting into over the next 6 months as I write this book with my Novel In A Year classmates!<\/p>\n
