Book revisions are taking up all my time! But I\u2019m slowly making progress, and starting to see the end in sight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I spent the last couple of weeks going through all the notes I made for scene-level revisions (which you can learn more about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jessicabrody.com\/2022\/05\/the-most-organized-way-to-revise-a-novel-free-revision-kickstart-guide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HERE<\/a>). I basically went chapter-by-chapter, either fixing the issue if it was a quick to accomplish, or leaving notes in the manuscript.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Up to now, I\u2019ve been just going to each item (ex. Adding a bit more to the opening of a chapter at a new setting) and making the necessary changes. But I left those that are more involved for when I read through the manuscript in full. I just felt like for some things, I needed to be in the flow of the scene to get the full context and be able to see how to fix it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This has still left me with a lot of notes to tackle, but I actually love this process. Maybe I\u2019m in the minority, but having a manuscript and a plan of how to fix it is a lot easier on my brain than staring at a blank screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Either way, I\u2019m not sure how long it will take to get through these notes. I originally said maybe a week, but it will probably be more like 2 or 3. Then, it\u2019s Page-Level edits (basically Line Edits, including polishing sentences, word choice, syntax, style). My goal is still to have the final version of this book done by the end of April so I can send it to Q&amp;C, so I\u2019ll keep working toward that. Even if I go past that deadline, I\u2019m just feeling so thankful that I made it this far after all the setbacks this past year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sorry I\u2019ve been MIA.
