{"id":9173,"date":"2025-04-07T15:04:27","date_gmt":"2025-04-07T19:04:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/maryrajotte.com\/blog\/?p=9173"},"modified":"2025-04-23T11:36:04","modified_gmt":"2025-04-23T15:36:04","slug":"notes-from-the-writing-nook-the-end-is","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/maryrajotte.com\/blog\/2025\/04\/07\/notes-from-the-writing-nook-the-end-is\/","title":{"rendered":"Book Revisions: The End Is\u2026"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How Revisions Are Going In The Writing Nook<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ve been steadily working on revisions for the sequel to <a href=\"https:\/\/maryrajotte.com\/blog\/book\/the-bone-key\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The Bone Key<\/a> since February using <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jessicabrody.com\/2022\/05\/the-most-organized-way-to-revise-a-novel-free-revision-kickstart-guide\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jessica Brody&#8217;s method<\/a>. I\u2019m in my<strong> 2nd round of revisions<\/strong>, with 1 more to go (fingers crossed). My plan was to finish everything by the <strong>end of April<\/strong>, but I\u2019ve stalled a bit, so it might be <strong>mid-May<\/strong> by the time I\u2019m done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019m wrapping up <strong>scene-level notes<\/strong> I made over the last few weeks, targeting pacing, scene structure, and any plot details that still need to be worked out. Next up, I\u2019ll be doing the dreaded <strong>Line Edit<\/strong> (polishing sentences, scrutinizing word choice, making sure all descriptions and settings are fully fleshed out)! I feel like that\u2019s going to take the longest\u2026nitpicking every word choice. But all in all, overall revisions have gone pretty well. Of course, I\u2019m the only one who has read the manuscript so far\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Not to say that is hasn\u2019t had its challenges.
