I sort of lost momentum a little bit last week. I took 3 days off, so that sort of ate into my productivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The good news is I\u2019ve finally started drafting the folk horror novella! I don\u2019t think I\u2019ll get it done by the end of July as I intended. It\u2019s more likely it will be the end of August. Which kind of annoys me \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019ve slowly been trying to get back to my intention of working on multiple projects at various stages at the same time (1. Outlining. 2. Writing. 3. Revising). But it\u2026never quite works out for me.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I tend to make a little progress here and there but I feel like I don\u2019t see noticeable movement on any one thing. Right now, I\u2019m finishing final revisions on the sequel to The Bone Key and I\u2019ve moved from outlining\/zero drafting to writing the novella. Once the novel is done, I want to add in a new project – outlining another novella so it\u2019s ready to go when I\u2019m done drafting this one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But every time I attempt this I\u2019m torn\u2026<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. Would it be better to focus on 1 project at a time<\/strong> to get it done more quickly?<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. Or should I keep pecking away little bits of multiple projects<\/strong>?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    My Current Schedule<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    I try to make my Main Project<\/strong> my priority (at least 3 days<\/strong> a week of work). Right now, that\u2019s the novella. Then, I have 1 day of my Secondary Project<\/strong> (in this case, finishing revisions).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Everything else\u2026classes<\/strong> I\u2019m taking, admin stuff<\/strong> (promo, newsletters etc), Patreon<\/strong> <\/a>content (since my paid supporters deserve the perks they\u2019re paying for) – all of that gets shoved into 1 full day<\/strong>. But honestly\u2026there\u2019s a lot of admin! It never fits into 1 day – so I end up doing some of those tasks during my mornings\u2026which spill over into the afternoons\u2026and end up eating into my other projects<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    I also make it a point to take weekends off<\/strong>. I didn’t used to, but it’s important, both for my mental health<\/strong> and my creative spark<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What Works For You?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    Are you a multi-tasker<\/strong>? Do you work on multiple big projects at once, or just focus on one<\/strong> until it\u2019s done?<\/p>\n\n\n\n
