I\u2019m literally one chapter away from the final final FINAL draft<\/strong> of The Bone Key sequel. One chapter that through 3 big revisions and multiple smaller ones\u2026is still at Zero Draft. I\u2019m not sure why I\u2019m avoiding writing the last chapter. Is it self-sabotage? Or just my way of delaying the end of this adventure? Your guess is as good as mine!<\/p>\n\n\n\n The good news is I\u2019ve already started working on my query letter, so I should be able to clean that up pretty quickly before I dig into my list of agents and publishers and start querying later this month.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I\u2019m still trying to get the collection<\/strong> done, and I\u2019ve started the behind-the-scenes work (marketing ideas, interior layout).<\/p>\n\n\n\n Next up\u2026deciding if I want to try to keep that ambitious self-publishing schedule and get back to the folk horror novella<\/strong>, or maybe plot Book 2 in my Reaper series<\/strong>. I\u2019m still shopping Book 1 around. I had a full request from a publisher in November but haven\u2019t heard anything back yet, so I guess I just get back to that and look for more publishers\u2026or agents\u2026or think about self-publishing. All the dream markets I\u2019d love to send it to are closed\u2026and\/or closed to unagented subs, so\u2026yeah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n FUN TIMES! Publishing is such a roller coaster.
