THE WEEKLY BREW: Taking the Plunge
Something I’ve been wanting to do for a while is calling to me in a very real way and I’ve decided it’s time to refocus my efforts.
If you’ve been following these (mostly) weekly updates, you know I’ve been shopping around a Dystopian horror novel, finishing the sequel to The Bone Key, working on various novellas and the short story collection for years. None of these projects have homes yet. I don’t have any upcoming projects with publishers, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have something in the works. Multiple things. And it’s time I really focused my intentions on getting these projects out to readers.
So from now forward, I’m working towards self-publishing collections and novellas. It’s an incredibly huge undertaking so luckily I found a few resources that will help me to get organized and keep track of everything I need to do. But my intention right now is to write the first draft of the novella by the end of the year and then starting in January I’ll be working towards self-publishing both the novella and my first collection.
I’m pretty excited about all this, even as I stare down the schedule I made for myself and realize it’s going to take a lot of work to get it done. But I’ve been talking about it for so many years and after seeing a few friends who are continually working their own self-publishing efforts, it’s really inspired me to just finally take the plunge.
I’ll be sharing my adventures along the way so I hope you’ll continue to follow me as I take this next step in my writing career.
And thanks for your continued support! It helps keep me motivated and determined to bring you more of my work!
