New Release: The Culling

They say you shouldn’t have a favorite child. That you should love them all equally. But when you’re an author, I think it’s perfectly acceptable to have a favourite story you’ve written. For me, that story is The Culling.

I unabashedly LOVE this story. When I re-read it, I’m surprised, because much of it, I don’t remember writing. I feel like at that time, I was channeling some other part of me that I hadn’t touched upon before. That I’d tapped into that inner creative font that is sometimes so elusive. So, I am more than thrilled that this story is finally out there in the world for readers to enjoy!

Here are some stats:

  • First penned: 2013
  • Number of rejections: 13
  • Beta Readers: 8

There’s a lesson here. Never give up on a story. Rejections don’t mean your story is terrible. It might not be the right fit for a particular anthology.

I believed in this story. I knew it was good, I loved it and I hope others will too!
