THE WEEKLY BREW: Getting Ready
Only a few more weeks until my first book convention! dReadCon 2025 is fast approaching, so I’ve been busy in the Writing Nook getting things ready.
Along with copies of The Bone Key, I’m bringing issues of Frightmarish Zine with new color variant covers. I’m also printing/cutting/compiling/stapling 100 mini zines alongside my business cards, stickers and a coupon that will go into all the VIP Swag bags.
This is only half of what I cut and folded this past weekend!

Even though dReadCon is within driving distance, it’s going to be an early morning on convention day. We’ll probably get up around 5 so we have time to shower, eat breakfast and make sure we have everything before the drive from Toronto to Burlington. VIP attendees get to shop an hour early, so I want lots of time to get my table set up just right. Which means SO MUCH COFFEE.
Don’t forget – if you’re attending, you can reserve a copy of The Bone Key here!
On the writing front, I wrote every day last week! I know this shouldn’t be a milestone, but I’ve been working on so many other things lately (website redesign, outlining, edits, con prep, etc.) that writing has kind of taken a backseat. I don’t like that feeling…But I’m happy with my progress.
This week, I’ll be working on book revisions for The Bone Key sequel – SO CLOSE TO BEING FINISHED. We’re taking Thursday & Friday off, so I really need to stay on task.
Another heatwave has come and gone, so I’m enjoying the cooler temperatures. Fall is on the horizon, friends!
