THE WEEKLY BREW: Double Whammy
No…not a bad Double Whammy. It’s simply…I haven’t posted my Monthly Intentions yet, so you’re getting them in The Weekly Brew!
My intention for this month is to harness the energy of Spooky Season into all the things I want to accomplish (and to remember that as long as I’m moving forward, I’m doing good things, even if my to-do list isn’t exactly shrinking).
Case in point…my September Intentions didn’t get as much attention as I intended. Let’s see why!
SEPTEMBER INTENTIONS
- WRITE: Folk Horror Novel(la) – Sorta. I drafted a few chapters. But something feels off.
- REVISE: The Bone Key sequel – Yes! Working on the synopsis!
- OUTLINE: 2nd Folk Horror novella – Nope. But…I have a plan…
- CREATE: Outstanding Ink website – Ongoing. Tedious but necessary task.
- WRITE: Story for Collection – Nope. But I’ve penciled it in!
We took three days off last week, and I have my class on Thursdays, so needless to say, I didn’t get much of anything done. BUT I did make strides in writing the synopsis for The Bone Key sequel! Not that I’m much looking forward to querying. I’m still querying the Reaper novel. They’re both very different. But I’ll keep going!
The copywriting website – I could probably finish it in a few days, but it just feels like such a chore. Ugh.
As for writing – that’s all I want to do this week! Drabbles. A short story. Brainstorm the 2nd folk horror novella (which will probably end up being another novel despite my best intentions). I’ve got an assignment due for the copywriting class, but it’s making a style sheet – and I’m using my novel to do it! This helps me, too. Basically using my story bible for my owl witch series, keeping track of things specific to my world for future books (aka spellings, special terms, world-building details, etc).
Anyway, that brings me to…
