THE WEEKLY BREW: Getting Ahead Of Myself
Even though we’re only just into December, I’ve got 2026 projects on my mind. So, I spent some time last week getting organized. Getting back into my paper planner has been such a big help. I really feel I can focus and get things done better when I’m not constantly online.
I created trackers for each of my book projects, along with one for specific projects. The first is where I’m logging start and end dates.

The self-publishing categories are from the self-publishing course at Writing Mastery.
The second is for one of my collections that I’ll be self-publishing with a space to track each story. Both give me a quick snapshot of where I am and what still needs to be completed.

This takes a huge load off my mind – but I also need to stay on track with what I’m working on now. I’ve shifted priorities, so this month, my collection is my main project. The novella is my secondary project, with final book revisions a third.
For me, setting my project priorities and sticking to the smaller tasks that make up each larger one is so important. Sometimes it feels like you need to be doing everything all at once, which we all know is impossible. But breaking it down into manageable chunks and only focusing on what’s important right now it the only way to not just throw it all out the window and give up!
