THE WEEKLY BREW: DreadCon Approaches
Not much writing progress last week. I did manage to get a few posts done, but mostly I spent it trying to wrangle a project in Affinity Publisher. I had a chapbook all laid out, but realized I was making it more difficult than it needed to be. Then when I went to shift some page designs, I think I broke everything. So…I might start over from scratch.
I don’t think it will take me too long, but since this is something I wanted for my table at DreadCon in September, I need to get moving! Much of this week will probably be dedicated to more of the same…touching up covers of Frightmarish Zine so I can get them printed; starting to print copies of the zine for my table; making a few trinkets to sell, and figuring out the mechanics of my new Square Reader so I can take payments at the book convention.
Nerves Are Building
Starting to get a little nervous for it…this is my first convention! I’m glad it will be with tons of other authors, though. Sitting alone at my table at Little Ghosts for my book signing was nerve-wracking enough LOL!
I know in-person conventions are important for authors, especially with the fickle nature of social media. So, though I’m nervous, I’m looking forward to getting one under my belt. Who knows? Maybe I’ll love it and sign up for more!
