Writing Wednesday: Notes from the Writing Nook

So, what I thought was going to be a week to fill in the holes I’d made while combining/removing obsolete chapters from my manuscript has now gone into its 3rd week of brainstorming.

I realized my subplot was lacking, I had a character that was kind of important, yet she only had maybe 3 or 4 appearances. And I realized all the worldbuilding I’d done before I started writing didn’t really make an appearance in my first draft.

So, even though it is taking me longer than I wanted, I’ve enjoyed the process of pulling those threads that are already there and making them even stronger.

My plan is to start writing the new chapters next week. I’ll deal with word counts (i.e. this thing might be approaching Stephen King proportions by the time I’m done) later.
