School Is In Session

I know I’ve talked about a lot about the horror serial that I’m working on and you may be pretty stoked to hear that I started writing it!

Some people may call me an over–plotter, and I’m okay with that. While some people enjoy the art of discovery on the page, having my book or story outlined beforehand saves me a lot of anxiety about what’s going to go on the page. It also helps me to work out plot holes before I run into them and make sure I follow threads from beginning to end.

The serial I’m writing is definitely horror but there are also threads of suspense and thriller in there which has made it necessary that I intricately plot out what’s going to happen. After months of work, I’m finally ready to start writing it and July’s session of Camp NaNoWriMo is definitely the perfect time to do it.

Shout-out to my fellow Super Villain Pillow Fight cabin-mates!

So far, I’m five chapters in and today, I wrote a particularly heinous murder scene.

Without giving too much away, the serial is definitely inspired by the Scream movies, which are some of my favourites to watch over and over again.

In the next few weeks, I’ll start posting more about the serial (including making a handy book page so you can stay updated on when new chapters are released) which hopefully get you excited to read it.

For now, I need to get back to Northside University and see how the girls in the sorority are reacting to the brutal murder that took place in their house.
