Expect the Unexpected

No, this isn’t an episode of Big Brother! But I suddenly find myself working on an unexpected project!

If you remember my posts from way back in…February, I was trying to come up with the plot for the next Reaper book. But before that, I’d started to re-outline the first book. I felt the middle was just too bloated and it needed some work. So, even though I’ve sent it to an agent, as well as a few markets, I’ve continued working on that dreaded edit.

It was PitDark that lit a fire under me. I was hoping to get some interest and wanted to send the revised manuscript out, but as it usually goes with PitDark (for me, anyway), I didn’t garner any interest on the book.

Still, I’m in it now! Edits are moving along and I hope to wrap it up in the next few weeks so I can send it out again.

I’m almost done with the first round of edits on The Bone Key. One more round and a final read-through and it’ll be ready to be typeset! AHH! Only 5 months until my book will be out there for readers to discover. It still feels surreal! I know most people are old hats in the publishing world. But this is my debut novel. I’m beside myself with anticipation!

I’m working on a few other things behind-the-scenes (still writing the sequel to The Bone Key; trying to get back into publishing Frightmarish Zine; a few secret things, no biggie ;).

Juggling all these projects isn’t easy, but I love what I do! I just wish I was a faster writer so I could get them out there more quickly. All in due time!
