NaNoWriMo – or no??

I'm thinking about participating in the National Novel Writing Month challenge. I know, it might seem insane, especially since that is our month of transition between our old and new homes…but when am I ever going to have the excuse to write for a month straight, and make it the priority of my days?

Lately I've been disappointed with myself in terms of my writing discipline. I am the first to admit that I haven't been making the best of my time every day. So when I heard about this, it really piqued my interest.

I don't have a specific story in mind for the novel. A few years ago, I had outlined a novel-length story, but only actually worked on the first few chapters. I don't know that it's such an interesting story anymore to me…but it might be a good one to practice writing on, to really get my flow back before tackling something more meaningful to me.

I'm just afraid that if I do use this as my idea, since I don't feel as impassioned about it when I first came up with the idea, that I may not work as hard on it.

anyway, I think I'll spend today looking at the outline, and thinking about any other ideas I may have. I really think this will be a good thing for me to attempt.
