I can’t believe I finally get to write this … the sequel to The Bone Key is DONE!!! And what a journey it has been!

I started outlining in September 2023! That feels so long ago. It was a few months after I signed the contract for The Bone Key. I knew I wanted to write a sequel, but it took some time to find how Valeria’s story would continue.

I drafted from the end of 2023 to early 2024, then took the rest of 2024 to revise. During that time, my Mom died, which completely derailed anything creative. It took me 4 or 5 months until I was able to get back to the book. But I did. It’s what she would have wanted.

Revisions continued from early 2025 through to…now! I work on multiple projects at once. I’ve also been taking courses toward an Editorial Skills certificate, so it seems like it has taken FOREVER, but in honesty, the entire process wasn’t every day for 3 years from start to finish.

But…it’s done! I’m doing the final nit-picking of my query letter and synopsis, and then the real fun begins…finding an agent and selling this book!!

SO…NOW WHAT?

If you thought I’d be sitting back with my feet up, sipping a margarita…you’d be wrong! My full focus is going into the folk horror novella now. I’m aiming for minimum 3k per day. I also have a new class starting soon, plus ongoing writerly promo and looking for more freelance/ghostwriting projects.

So…back to the Writing Nook I go!
