Happy Day

One of my favorite parts of our trip was the drive home, if you can believe it.

We drove home around Lake Nipissing and hit North Bay during rush hour. The sky was overcast, the air humid. So, as we left the city down highway 11, and were approaching Sundridge, the town lived up to its namesake, because the sky opened up.

The sun began to break through feathery white clouds, shimmering beams gleaming down.

On our road trips, I am not only the navigator, but the DJ as well. Since we had already gone through every CD in our travel case, I resorted to the glove compartment, and found my Stills CD, which I had completely forgotten that Chris had bought me for my birthday – it had been in the car since then and I'd only listened to it once.

Something about the light shining down on us, the cool breeze with all our windows rolled down, and great music made me so unbelievably happy and content. I could have driven like that all day & night.
