Photographic

So, while I’ve been busy plotting, replotting, re-re-plotting the new serial, I’ve taken up a new hobby to keep me sane.

I’m going back to my roots and I’ve taken up photography again! I first started back in high school, then carried it into my college studies, but kind of just let it go. Other than taking snapshots on vacations and road trips, I hadn’t practiced my f-stops and shutter speeds for years.

This fall, Chris & I joined a local camera club. We go to bi-weekly meetings and workshops on opposite weeks and even though I’m still rusty, it has been great to do something else that’s creative and gives me a break from being in my head all the time.

So far, I’ve won 2 different contest with my entries – just honorable mentions in the Novice group but I’m okay with that. Looking forward to the weather getting nice again so I can get out there and practice some more!

For now, here’s the shot that won me an honorable mention at last week’s competition results meeting. I took it at Chichen Itza a couple of years ago 🙂
