NOTES FROM THE WRITING NOOK: April 2020
It may seem kinda crazy but I’m currently chipping away at 3 different book projects right now.
Witchy Shenanigans

My main project, the book I’m writing in Novel In A Year is just over 30k of an estimated 65k. So far, it’s going pretty well. I’m into the Fun & Games section of the book (for those of you familiar with Save the Cat plotting). My main character is definitely getting into witchy shenanigans, but she is also trying new things and starting to realize that she is going to have to confront her demons if she wants to get past them and move on.
Slasher On Campus

One of my other projects is the Scream-inspired serial fiction I started last year. I’m so glad I had it plotted out because I’ve pretty easily been able to just jump back in and work on it. In fact, it’s a great change of pace from the main book, which is just a lot darker. SS is your classic slasher-on-campus story and so much fun.
Punk Rock Reaper

The other is my often-talked-about Reaper novel. I’m still editing it, which also includes adding a bunch of new chapters. So far, so good on that one. This one is more near-future urban suspense with punk rock, tattoos and well, Reapers.
How Many Is Too Many?
So, who knows? By the end of the year, I could have 3 finished books on my hands! It would be nice to get these other two, which I’ve been working on for a while done, but I know I will have, at the very least, the witch book done by the end of the year.
Add to that short stories I’m working on for publication and for my Patreon page and well, I’m burning up my keyboard these days. Not a bad way to spend my time (though I miss going to movies, BBQs I the park and concerts but…it is what it is).
