Life (And Creativity) Goes On
The last few months have been a blur. March and April were a struggle, creatively and if not for the Novel In A Year Workshop I’m taking, I’m not sure I would have gotten anything new written.
Somehow, I’ve come out on the other side of that slump with actual accomplishments!
THE MAD RUSH
May and the beginning of June, I spent doing the 3rd round of revisions on my Reaper book and I’ve now submitted it to Nightfire, the horror imprint of big publisher Tor.

I know so many people who have submitted novels or novellas and it’s a very exciting time. I put in many, many late nights and early mornings so I’m pretty proud of all the hard work. Here’s hoping I’ll have great news to celebrate soon!
THE EPIC CONTINUES
Now that the Reaper book is done, I’m back working on the Witches. I have until the end of July to finish the first draft, and then it’s back into the Revision Mines for 4 months to polish this book up. I’m definitely going to work to make It darker and more magical, and I can’t wait for you all to read this book!
OTHER BITS
I have no shortage of story ideas and intend to write at least 2 more in the coming weeks. I’ll also be putting my story, What Lies Beneath, into ebook form for sale. It was originally a Patreon-exclusive and posted at Fright Girl Summer, but I want to create a downloadable option for those who prefer to read on their Kindle or Kobo Reader.
LIFE GOES ON
We’re only moving to Stage 2 of the “new normal” here in Toronto, so although restaurant patios, some malls and salons are opening up again, most things are still closed or restricted.
I’m not sure we’ll be having many beach days this summer, but we’re still going to try to get in some physically-distant park days and cookouts, because all I really need to relax is good food, good music, the great outdoors and people I love.
