Birthday Antics

Chris emailed me Tuesday from work and told me to be ready by 9 to go out to dinner. We feasted on shrimp and Bacardi Silver at Red Lobster.

RelaxationThe waitress overheard me begging Chris not to tell them it was my birthday (I hate those all-employee birthday sing-a-longs!), and quietly brought me a caramel-covered slice of cheesecake with a candle in it after we had finished.

The next day, we drove into the early afternoon under layer upon layer of dark grey clouds. But as we turned onto Highway 21, blue patches of sky broke through, and by the time we hit the beach at The Pinery, there was not a cloud in the sky.

We lounged on the beach and played in the water for a few hours, before heading further north for some frozen yogurt. We made it back home after 10pm, slightly sunburned but relaxed, and full of ideas for our next business venture.

This weekend, we're going out to make our final decision on the digital camera – my final and ultimate birthday gift! I had a great day and didn't dwell on the fact that I'm another year older. I'll save that for next year!
