Mood Lighting

Rain-slickedLast night, the entire city was atmospheric.  The air slowly filled with fog, and the red & green of the traffic lights and car headlights were like thick, wet watercolor brushstrokes across the rain-slicked streets.  It made me remember when I used to walk home from the clubs listening to my walkman, just soaking it all in.  Sometimes I feel like my poetic thoughts are silly and so I don't share them with anyone; like sometimes I am too Cancerian for my own good.

Moving on…

As we were sitting and chatting at a stoplight – crash! Some guy rear-ended us! Chris immediately got out of the car – I imagine the guy must have cursed himself, seeing a 6-foot-4 guy coming towards him.

We are both ok and the car is fine. It just reminds you that 1 – we were lucky and 2 – things like that can happen anytime.  I was in a car accident once where my head was smashed on the windshield, I had to go get x-rays and ended up with a huge welt.  Luckily, this one was nothing.
