October 2019 Movie Log
Obviously as a horror writer, I watch a lot of scary movies. But in October, that’s doubly so.
Luckily, I work from home, so while I’m checking email or doing other tasks, I usually have some sort of horror movie on in the background to keep me company.
So, I thought it might be cool to track some of the things I watch this month along with my impressions. Feel free to play along and watch the same movies yourself. I love to hear what you think about them.
I’m going to keep this as a running post so be sure to come back and see what I’ve watched lately.
It (2017)
I had started this movie the other night when I needed something to wind down after finishing a short story so I picked up the rest of it today.
I still really love this movie. Pennywise is particularly frightening in this one. I mean…those teeth? Come on!

I also love that IT was filmed in a local small town, Port Hope. I’ve been there a number of times so it’s cool to see places I’ve been before.

Scream
The original movie in the series is a classic for me. After seeing it so many times it doesn’t scare me anymore but I love to see the combination of horror and humor. And Nick Cave’s Red Right Hand playing. Not to mention Tatum (before her untimely demise).

Halloween (1978)
I usually wait to watch this until closer to Halloween but with the various remakes, you know I’ll be watching more than one of them this season.

One of the best things about this movie? The score. That music gets me every time. Plus I just started following Annie Brackett on Twitter.

So, what movies are watching during this spookiest of seasons? Share in the comments – and be sure to come back, as I’ll be updating this post with my latest viewings!
